Our packaging

Today, nearly half of our products are refillable.
From the creation of La Rosée in 2015, we chose not to use any secondary packaging on our products: no boxes around our tubes, bottles or jars, in order to drastically reduce our waste. At the time, we were the only brand sold in pharmacies without secondary packaging. This has allowed us to save more than 330 tonnes of cardboard!
Every day, we work on the eco-design of our packaging, using increasingly more bio-based and recycled materials to reduce its impact on the planet throughout its life cycle.
This choice represents a real challenge: our products are more complex to develop and involve aesthetic constraints, which we work continuously to overcome
We are constantly improving the recyclability of our products to make them ever more environmentally responsible through continuous innovation.
Our bottles
Our bottles are made with up to 100% recycled plastic, particularly from used water bottles, and we have maximised their recyclability.
To go all the way with this approach and further reduce our waste, we removed the plastic clips that locked the pumps, as well as the plastic seals.
Our glass bottles have been lightweighted and contain more than one-quarter recycled glass, helping to reduce their carbon footprint. They are infinitely recyclable.

Our tubes
All of our tubes are made from plant-based plastic, produced from sugar cane*.
Sugar cane is a renewable resource grown using responsible farming practices. It requires very little water, no pesticides, and grows easily, meaning it does not require large areas of cultivated land. To ensure the process remains sustainable, production waste is transformed into fertiliser and biofuel used to supply energy to nearby towns.
Plant-based plastic offers the same properties as petroleum-based plastic in terms of product protection, preservation and recyclability, while having a significantly lower carbon footprint.
Our stick formats
For our Masks, Eye Contour Care and Sun Stick, we made the innovative choice of a solid stick format. We were the pioneers of this format in pharmacies.
This format helps save water, reduces the need for preservatives, and offers a longer product lifespan. All while offering a practical format and an even application.

Eliminating virgin fossil-based plastic
We have set ourselves the objective of reaching 0% virgin fossil-based plastic by 2030.
Plastic is a very lightweight material, making it advantageous in terms of product weight and transportation. We therefore choose either 100% recycled plastic or bio-based plastic made from sugar cane*, both of which have a lower environmental impact than virgin fossil-based plastic.
This objective of eliminating virgin fossil-based plastic has been shared with all of our packaging suppliers so that, together, we can work towards achieving it.
Our Cardboard Box
The cardboard cartons used for our Surgras Soap and our refill products are made from 100% recycled cardboard and are FSC-certified, guaranteeing legally sourced wood, no links to illegal deforestation, sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation.
The FSC label is the benchmark certification within the paper industry and requires compliance with strict standards. Only 5% of the world's forests are FSC certified.
Our Refills
Refills are the natural extension of our commitments and now account for nearly half of our product range.
After pioneering the first refillable lip stick product available in pharmacies, we have progressively expanded refill solutions across our range.
In 2021, after months of development, we launched our refillable deodorant to offer packaging with a completely innovative mechanism that is both environmentally responsible and practical for consumers. We then decided to make this innovation freely available, allowing other market players to offer a more responsible way of consuming this everyday hygiene product.
In January 2024, we reached another milestone by launching the first 100% refillable liquid haircare range available in pharmacies, featuring an empty glass bottle designed to be refilled indefinitely.
At the end of 2025, our make-up range was also launched in refillable versions thanks to a highly innovative compact that we developed entirely ourselves.
On average, these refills reduce plastic use by 80% compared with full-size packaging. Since their launch, they have enabled us to save more than 100 tonnes of plastic.
One of our greatest sources of pride is seeing how enthusiastically you have embraced this more responsible way of consuming!
Today, for example, we sell more deodorant refills than complete deodorants. Our deodorant and its refill have ranked No. 1 in french pharmacy sales for the third consecutive year*.

Bulk Cosmetics
In June 2023, we launched our first bulk sales pilot at Carré Opéra Pharmacy in Paris.
For this unprecedented project, we joined forces with several industry stakeholders within the PHARMA-RECHARGE consortium. Together, we are testing a new way of purchasing dermocosmetic products in pharmacies.
We designed a shared refill station offering several bulk products, including three La Rosée references:
- Mon Petit La Rosée Cleansing Gel
By joining forces, we aim to make this new consumption habit easier to adopt while significantly reducing single-use plastic packaging. The principle is simple: customers keep their bottle and return to the pharmacy to refill it. Bulk refills are sold at a lower price than purchasing a new bottle, encouraging this more responsible practice.
Following two years of testing at Carré Opéra Pharmacy and five additional pharmacies across France, the programme is continuing to expand into other regions.
Deposit Return
Since autumn 2024, we have been testing a new packaging reuse solution as part of the Cosmetics & Deposit Return Coalition: a deposit return scheme.
Customers at four pharmacies in France can now return their empty serum bottles and receive a €2 reward in exchange. The bottles are collected by pharmacists before being sent to a specialist service provider for washing.
We are currently in the testing phase. The objective is to evaluate the resistance of our packaging to repeated washing and to develop the solutions that will ultimately enable it to be reconditioned and given a second life.
Once again, we are collaborating with other brands in our sector. This increases the visibility of reusable packaging solutions for consumers while facilitating the search for the right industrial partners.
Our objective is clear: by 2030, none of our packaging will contain virgin fossil-based plastic. And by 2027, half of our sales will come from refillable or solid formats.
*Except for our two toothpastes, whose tubes are made from recycled plastic sourced from milk bottles.
