Our strict formulation charter
Since our founding, our obsession has been to refine our product formulations and ban controversial ingredients, in order to ensure maximum tolerance for all skin types, even the most sensitive, while guaranteeing optimal efficacy and an incomparable sensory experience. We favor natural ingredients and more responsible sourcing.
Beyond regulations, we formulate our products according to a strict charter that excludes several hundred controversial ingredients. We are constantly working to continuously improve our formulas: if any doubt arises about the safety of a substance, we make sure to replace it in order to always guarantee maximum safety.
For you, we want absolute transparency.
We formulate WITHOUT: Parabens, MIT, Mineral Oils, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Phthalates, Silicones, Benzophenones, BHA/BHT, Alkylphenols, Nanoparticles*, aluminum salts, PEG, EDTA, essential oils…
*according to the definition set out in the European Cosmetics Regulation
Why do we ban these ingredients from our formulations?
We know that more and more of you want to understand what you are putting on your skin and to pay real attention to the ingredients found in today's dermo-cosmetics.
That's why we are committed to explaining our formulation charter to you in a clear way.
Ingredients we ban
Endocrine disruptors are chemical substances suspected of disrupting or interfering with our hormonal system. They have the property of mimicking or blocking the action of hormones and could be largely responsible for the increase in numerous disorders and conditions (infertility, hormone-dependent cancers, diabetes…).

- Nanoparticles
In recent years, nanoparticles have raised concerns and become controversial. They are found in creams, makeup products, toothpastes, and sun care products. They are used as UV filters, thickeners, or dispersants.
These particles are smaller than cells. Because of their small size, they can penetrate and spread within living organisms (through ingestion, inhalation, or by crossing the skin barrier). They also have an impact on the environment, particularly when used in sunscreens.
The following ingredients are derived from petrochemicals and are not biodegradable. Biodegradability refers to a product's ability to break down fully or partially in the environment. The ecological impact of these ingredients is very significant when they are used in cosmetic products, since they end up in wastewater, which then flows into rivers and oceans.

Many UV filters are widely criticized today, as they threaten seabeds and are accused of being harmful to health.
To design a range more respectful of the skin and the marine ecosystem, we have banned two types of filters:
"Old generation" organic or chemical filters — some of them have a harmful impact on corals, while others are suspected of being endocrine disruptors.

Mineral filters, found in certain sun care products in nanoparticle form. These ingredients are not harmful in themselves, but their nanoparticle form raises concerns about their safety for health and the environment.

We favor plant-based ingredients in our formulas. Most of our products are vegan and therefore contain no animal-derived ingredients. We allow ourselves a few exceptions:
- Our Nourishing Mask, our SOS Repairing Balm, our Liniment, and our Mon Petit La Rosée Moisturizing Cream contain beeswax.
- Our Tinted Nourishing Lip Stick contains a natural, non-vegan colorant.
Beeswax has been used in cosmetics for centuries for its nourishing and protective properties, but the question of biodiversity protection arises at the time of harvesting. Large pieces of hives can be crushed by the machines that collect the wax, killing large numbers of bees. Fortunately, some companies have become aware of the issue and found alternatives to this process, notably using wax collected from pieces that have fallen naturally.
Aware of this issue at La Rosée, we have chosen to work with three French suppliers who follow these good practices and are Ecovadis certified.
The fragrance question
At La Rosée, we combine safety, tolerance, and pleasure. We have therefore chosen to include fragrances in our products, selected and formulated with the greatest care to suit even the most demanding skin (babies, sensitive skin). Our fragrances are developed with French perfumers, notably from the Grasse region.
To ensure optimal tolerance for all skin types, we work to limit the presence of allergens in our formulas.
These allergens are not added as such to the formula but are an integral part of the fragrance; they are subject to strict regulation and mandatory labeling in the ingredients list above a certain threshold.
According to the European Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety, 1 to 3% of the European population is allergic to a fragrance ingredient.
These ingredients are identifiable in our ingredients lists, in accordance with Cosmetics Regulation.
With this strict charter of ingredients that we ban from our formulations, you can trust the composition of our products blindly.
